1.5mm 12v 2 Core Rubber Cable
This 1.5mm 2 core cable will connect a number of Fostering 12V garden lights together via junction boxes, or direct to transformers, to create a complete 12v system. It is ideal for outdoor applications due to it being both water resistant and oil resistant. To prevent voltage drop, keep cable runs to a minimum (up to approx. 35-40m if possible). For longer cable runs, use thicker cable (see below). Available in 25m, 50m and 100m cable lengths. Please note this rubber cable is not armoured so position with care.
This H07RN-F rubber cable is extra flexible even when installed in temperatures less than zero degrees. The copper stranded conductor cables are insulated individually internally. In addition, a tough yet flexible neoprene rubber sheath surrounds both cables , protecting from damage.
We recommend that all 2 core cable is protected in conduit. This not only protects the cable from accidental damage, but also from rodents, acidic soil, weed killer and other chemicals, and also the sun.
Alternative cable sizes available:
2.5mm 2 core cable is a thicker cable recommended for particularly long 12v cable runs up to approx. 50m with 12 fittings evenly spaced (varies based on total wattage)
0.75mm 2 core cable is a standard spec 12v cable, suitable for basic 12v garden lighting systems up to approx 25m. with 12v fittings evenly spaced (varies based on total wattage)
To prevent voltage drop, keep cable run lengths to a minimum and evenly space fittings.

Warmer colour temperatures have a less disruptive impact on wildlife and help reduce star-warping. For instance, bats are less affected by red-toned lights, which produce orange or yellow hues, compared to cooler, daylight white or blue lights higher in the spectrum. Blue light, being the most harmful for light pollution, should be minimised. The best solution is to use colour temperatures of 3000K or lower, with 2700K often referred to as “bat-friendly” lighting.
