Airlite Anodised Aluminium Dusk to Dawn Post Light (12V Plug & Play)
This 12V dusk to dawn path light is high quality 3mm thick anodised aluminium. As a result, it is sturdy post light with a contemporary, elegant appearance. It’s available in heights of 400mm or 600mm. A Photocell path light is ideal for security and energy conscious users. The sensor automatically turns the light on when darkness is detected (dusk). Then, it automatically turns off again when it detects light (dawn). Due to the simple VERSA Plug & Play system, this 12V path light couldn’t be easier to install.
The 3m cable supplied is capped with a 2 pin plug which simply plugs directly into a transformer (or splitter if multiple fittings are installed). The transformer (sold separately) plugs into a mains socket and it is ready to go. 12V systems are very versatile and perfectly suited to outdoor settings because low voltage is ideal in damp environments. The 12V post light accommodates a replaceable LED MR16 which are available in a number of wattages and colours. It is often thought that low voltage lights are not as bright as mains voltage – this is not the case. Dichroic coloured lenses can be used with the LED bulb to create beautiful coloured effects.
The durability of the 12V dusk to dawn post light is combined with the eye-catching ‘bubble’ effect in the substantial solid resin head. Once illuminated, it acts as both a standard path light and as an uplighter, so if placed beneath trees the effect is amazing!
The highly weatherproof IP65 12V path light will look great in any size surrounding, from small, modern gardens to smart commercial premises. It has a sturdy fixed base with 4 installation holes for mounting to a flat surface.

Warmer colour temperatures have a less disruptive impact on wildlife and help reduce star-warping. For instance, bats are less affected by red-toned lights, which produce orange or yellow hues, compared to cooler, daylight white or blue lights higher in the spectrum. Blue light, being the most harmful for light pollution, should be minimised. The best solution is to use colour temperatures of 3000K or lower, with 2700K often referred to as “bat-friendly” lighting.

Surface mount bollards are installed on top of an existing solid surface, such as concrete or asphalt. Depending on the surface various types of bolts can be used, with expanding anchor bolts being one of the most secure options. They are a versatile option for locations where digging into the ground isn’t feasible or where temporary installation is preferred. These bollards offer easy installation and relocation, making them ideal for flexible or non-permanent applications.
Surface mounted bollards can be securely fixed to the ground using J-bolts. These would be attached to the surface mount with the bolts sunk into a wet concrete base, rather than the tube buried in the ground. This installation method provides a strong, stable foundation while allowing for easy removal or replacement if needed. These bollards are ideal for permanent installations in areas where digging or extensive groundwork is not an option, offering both durability and flexibility.
Surface mount bollards with in-ground spikes are designed to be anchored to soft ground with a spike that drives into the ground beneath the bollard. This method offers strong stability while being easier to install than traditional root mounts, as it requires no concrete or extensive digging. They are a great choice for private locations where a secure yet removable bollard is needed, providing a durable solution with quick and easy installation.
