LEDifice LED Dusk to Dawn Commercial Bollard Light – Professional Root Mount System
The ‘LEDifice’ is a professional and robust illuminated commercial bollard. It has a specially designed taller head in order to accommodate high output LED bulbs. The LEDifice is perfect for installations that need a high level of light. Ideal as amenity lighting for larger, commercial or public areas such as car parks or buildings. Fostering recommend the included the 20W LED Corn Bulb for optimum brightness.

The inbuilt photocell dusk to dawn sensor automatically turns the bollard light on when it detects dark and off again when it detects light. Therefore, there is no need to remember to switch the fitting on and off manually, which results in less product maintenance. The E27 / ES bulb holder accommodates almost any LED bulb. Using LEDs is a very effective way to reduce energy bills.
The Professional ‘In-Ground’ Root Mount System gives extra security and stability.
The tubular bodies of Root mount bollards are different to a standard types. Extended tubes allow at least 400mm to be concreted in-ground, without losing any height above ground. A strong mounting bar inside the tubular body acts as an anchor when set into concrete. There is an optional secure cable outlet. This allows easy wiring after fixing the bollard in place.
The clear, high quality UV stop PC diffuser surrounding the centre section of the head, enables an even all-round light dispersal. This also adds protection to the bulb installed. Silver aluminium louvres act as anti-glare shields and give further internal protection. The bollard head and cylinder are 2.5mm thick heavy duty die-cast aluminium. All screws are stainless steel, resulting in a completely rustproof and non-corrosive model.
In a graphite black finish, a choice of height is available (600mm, 800mm or 1000mm) – a height suitable for every application such as driveways, paths and sectioned areas. There are also 3 styles of head to choose from: ‘domed’, ‘pillar’ or ‘flat’ top.
NOTE: The overall bollard height may be up to 7cm taller than the standard height due to the larger bollard head. This may vary depending on which tubular body is installed.
How far apart should the bollards be installed?
The distance between each bollard depends on bulb light output, the area, and amount of light required.
These guidelines are based on our recommended bulbs providing a constant light between each fitting:
- 20W LED Corn Bulb (DAYLIGHT WHITE) – 6m to 8m apart
- 20W LED Corn Bulb WARM WHITE) – 5m to 7m apart

Surface mount bollards are installed on top of an existing solid surface, such as concrete or asphalt. Depending on the surface various types of bolts can be used, with expanding anchor bolts being one of the most secure options. They are a versatile option for locations where digging into the ground isn’t feasible or where temporary installation is preferred. These bollards offer easy installation and relocation, making them ideal for flexible or non-permanent applications.
Surface mounted bollards can be securely fixed to the ground using J-bolts. These would be attached to the surface mount with the bolts sunk into a wet concrete base, rather than the tube buried in the ground. This installation method provides a strong, stable foundation while allowing for easy removal or replacement if needed. These bollards are ideal for permanent installations in areas where digging or extensive groundwork is not an option, offering both durability and flexibility.
Surface mount bollards with in-ground spikes are designed to be anchored to soft ground with a spike that drives into the ground beneath the bollard. This method offers strong stability while being easier to install than traditional root mounts, as it requires no concrete or extensive digging. They are a great choice for private locations where a secure yet removable bollard is needed, providing a durable solution with quick and easy installation.
