MARINA – Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel PIR Bollard Light – Surface Mount with Motion Sensor
The super heavy-duty 2mm thick marine grade stainless steel PIR bollard light the ‘Marina’ is extra robust and built to function automatically in commercial environments. Aluminium louvres in the strong bollard head ensure an ‘anti-glare’ light shines downwards and outwards when darkness falls.
Importantly, Marine grade (316) stainless steel is the highest grade of stainless steel. This PIR motion sensor bollard is ideal for use as amenity lighting. The PIR sensor is ideal for adding security in commercial and residential spaces. The Marina is ideal for larger, commercial or public areas including car parks, built-up areas, lakes, golf courses etc, where a high level of durability and light is required.
Additionally, a specially designed head allows for a large 20W LED corn bulb with a high lumen output (brightness). Our bright 15W LED lamp is a great option too. Both lamps offer bright illumination in either warm or daylight white. Both are compatible with the integrated PIR motion sensor.
Each stainless steel bollard has an extra thick internal mounting base as standard. This can mount onto any flat surface and compatible with root mount J-Bolts if required.
A clear, UV stop polycarbonate diffuser surrounds the majority of the head and silver aluminium internal louvres. These add character to the bollard as well as acting as anti-glare shields / protecting the LED bulb. All external screws are stainless steel, resulting in a completely rustproof and non-corrosive product.
A Photocell Marina Bollard is also available.
How far apart should my bollards be?
The distance between bollards will vary depending on what light output the bulbs used have, what sort of area is being lit and how much light is required. Below are some guidelines to determine how many bollards may be required for your project based on our recommended LED corn bulbs, providing a constant light between each fitting:

Surface mount bollards are installed on top of an existing solid surface, such as concrete or asphalt. Depending on the surface various types of bolts can be used, with expanding anchor bolts being one of the most secure options. They are a versatile option for locations where digging into the ground isn’t feasible or where temporary installation is preferred. These bollards offer easy installation and relocation, making them ideal for flexible or non-permanent applications.
Surface mounted bollards can be securely fixed to the ground using J-bolts. These would be attached to the surface mount with the bolts sunk into a wet concrete base, rather than the tube buried in the ground. This installation method provides a strong, stable foundation while allowing for easy removal or replacement if needed. These bollards are ideal for permanent installations in areas where digging or extensive groundwork is not an option, offering both durability and flexibility.
Surface mount bollards with in-ground spikes are designed to be anchored to soft ground with a spike that drives into the ground beneath the bollard. This method offers strong stability while being easier to install than traditional root mounts, as it requires no concrete or extensive digging. They are a great choice for private locations where a secure yet removable bollard is needed, providing a durable solution with quick and easy installation.
