Parabola PIR Marker Light – Root Mounted
This Parabola PIR marker bollard light is robust and vandal resistant. The louvres and diffuser enable an even, downwards light dispersal around the bollard and add protection to the bulb. The light effect is one of a low-level glowing post, marking the way.
The extended tube allows the bollard to be root mounted giving extra security and stability. The tubular bodies of root mount bollards are different to standard types. The tube allows for at least 400mm to be concreted in-ground, without losing any height above ground. A strong mounting bar inside the tubular body acts as an anchor when set into concrete. There is an optional secure cable outlet. This allows easy wiring after the bollard is fixed in place.
There is a choice of height available (800mm or 1000mm).This PIR marker bollard light is ideal for driveways, paths and even residential spaces where a lower level of light is required. There are also 3 styles of head to choose from: ‘domed’, ‘pillar’ or ‘flat’ top. The head and 2.5mm thick extruded aluminium cylinder of the bollard are heavy duty die-cast aluminium. All screws are stainless steel, resulting in a completely rustproof and non-corrosive model.
In-Built Motion Sensor
The in-built PIR sensor automatically turns the bollard light on when movement is detected during the night. Due to this, there is no need to remember to switch the fitting on and off manually, which results in less product maintenance. The E27 / ES bulb holder accommodates almost any LED bulb. Using LEDs is a very effective way to reduce energy bills.
Adjust the settings on the PIR sensor to select your relevant options:
Distance between bollards – how far?
The distance between bollards varies depending on the bulb’s light output. Also the type of area and how much light you require. Below are some guidelines to determine how many bollards may be required for your project based on our recommended bulbs providing a constant light between each fitting:
- 15W Corn Lamp: 3-5m Spacing
In the event of damage after installation, Fostering carry stocks of replacement spare parts. These include Bollard Heads, PC lenses, Bulb Holders.

Root Mounting Kit for Bollard Lights - J Bolts

Surface mount bollards are installed on top of an existing solid surface, such as concrete or asphalt. Depending on the surface various types of bolts can be used, with expanding anchor bolts being one of the most secure options. They are a versatile option for locations where digging into the ground isn’t feasible or where temporary installation is preferred. These bollards offer easy installation and relocation, making them ideal for flexible or non-permanent applications.
Surface mounted bollards can be securely fixed to the ground using J-bolts. These would be attached to the surface mount with the bolts sunk into a wet concrete base, rather than the tube buried in the ground. This installation method provides a strong, stable foundation while allowing for easy removal or replacement if needed. These bollards are ideal for permanent installations in areas where digging or extensive groundwork is not an option, offering both durability and flexibility.
Surface mount bollards with in-ground spikes are designed to be anchored to soft ground with a spike that drives into the ground beneath the bollard. This method offers strong stability while being easier to install than traditional root mounts, as it requires no concrete or extensive digging. They are a great choice for private locations where a secure yet removable bollard is needed, providing a durable solution with quick and easy installation.
