Garden Path Light – Smartpost – 600mm
The Smartpost garden path light is a sleek, 600mm bollard designed to add decorative lighting to garden environments. In addition to the surface mount, it is also supplied with a substantial 400mm aluminium ground spike. Either mount to a patio, pathway or decking with the 5mm thick surface mount, or mount into soft ground with the 400mm ground spike. A frosted diffuser disperses light evenly without glare, concealing the replaceable lamp. Install around pathways, entrances and patios to really make a statement with guests!
This garden path light is available in three stylish finishes: matte black, cocoa and titanium. Matte black is a popular, powder coated finish that looks great in daylight, and blends in when darkness falls. Both the titanium silver and cocoa copper finishes are anodised aluminium. As a result, they are extremely weatherproof. The titanium colour is designed to look very similar to contemporary stainless steel. Cocoa resembles copper (rose gold) in appearance as a more budget friendly alternative. Unlike copper, its weatherproof finish makes it ideal for maintaining a clean, modern appearance in the garden.
Continue a modern theme throughout the garden with matching AlvaLED spike lights, available in exactly the same finishes.
The Smartpost has a standard E27 bulb holder resulting in interchangeable lamp options. For a subtle glow, use a Candle LED lamp. For a higher, more intense light output, use a higher power GLS LED. Daylight white will enhance the white colour of the polycarbonate diffuser, whereas warm white create a warmer, more cosy glow.
Automate your Smartpost with a Photocell Bulb:
“Dusk to dawn” or “Photocell” units are a light-sensitive electronic switch. In simpler terms, it senses the brightness of light. At dusk, when the light level reduces, it switches the light on, and at dawn when the light level increases again the light switches off. Hence there is no need for a timer, and it means that no energy is wasted by lights being on in daylight. Fostering’s 9W Dusk to Dawn LED GLS bulbs use this technology to automate lighting, switching the bulb on when it gets dark, and off at dawn.

Surface mount bollards are installed on top of an existing solid surface, such as concrete or asphalt. Depending on the surface various types of bolts can be used, with expanding anchor bolts being one of the most secure options. They are a versatile option for locations where digging into the ground isn’t feasible or where temporary installation is preferred. These bollards offer easy installation and relocation, making them ideal for flexible or non-permanent applications.
Surface mounted bollards can be securely fixed to the ground using J-bolts. These would be attached to the surface mount with the bolts sunk into a wet concrete base, rather than the tube buried in the ground. This installation method provides a strong, stable foundation while allowing for easy removal or replacement if needed. These bollards are ideal for permanent installations in areas where digging or extensive groundwork is not an option, offering both durability and flexibility.
Surface mount bollards with in-ground spikes are designed to be anchored to soft ground with a spike that drives into the ground beneath the bollard. This method offers strong stability while being easier to install than traditional root mounts, as it requires no concrete or extensive digging. They are a great choice for private locations where a secure yet removable bollard is needed, providing a durable solution with quick and easy installation.
