Charleston Coolie – Solid Brass Spreadlight with Ground Spike (12v Plug & Play)
The ‘Coolie’ 12v plug & play Spreadlight is extra durable Solid Brass with a classic rustic bronze finish. It is part of the Charleston Cobra modular mounting range. The inside of the shade is powder coated. Thus, the white finish enhances the brightness of the light emitted. The beam angle is approximately 90º. Notably, the ‘Coolie’ houses a replaceable G4. Fostering recommend the use of an LED G4 capsule. Significantly, LED G4s have a greater life span than 12v halogen G4s, and use a lot less energy due to their low wattage. With this said, LEDs are equally as bright as higher wattage, low voltage halogens.
A polycarbonate domed lamp cover protects the G4 LED Lamp at the top of the stem. This adds extra character and style to the garden light. A 225mm robust 4 fin polycarbonate ground spike with anchor is included with the Coolie Brass Spread Light. This is for secure and easy mounting into soft ground.
Charleston Modular Mounting
Charleston spot lights and spread lights use the same size thread stem (0.75 inches) which makes them extremely versatile when considering mounting options. Try replacing the polycarbonate spike with a solid brass spike. Alternatively use the Charleston Brass Bass to surface mount the spread light on any virtually flat surface. All mounting accessories sold separately.

Warmer colour temperatures have a less disruptive impact on wildlife and help reduce star-warping. For instance, bats are less affected by red-toned lights, which produce orange or yellow hues, compared to cooler, daylight white or blue lights higher in the spectrum. Blue light, being the most harmful for light pollution, should be minimised. The best solution is to use colour temperatures of 3000K or lower, with 2700K often referred to as “bat-friendly” lighting.
