VERSA 12v Plug & Play Garden Spreadlight
This traditional brass 12v plug & play garden Spreadlight has an elegant rustic bronze finish and is ideal for lighting edging, pathways and flower beds in the garden. The fitting emits the ‘spread’ downwards in a light pool with no ‘upwards’ light pollution. The wide-angle of the large shade disperses this spread of light over approx. 100º. The underside of the shade has a white powder coated finish. This greatly enhances and reflects the light downwards and outwards.
This VERSA plug & play 12v path light couldn’t be simpler to install. The 4.5m cable supplied is capped with a 2 pin plug which simply plugs directly into a transformer (or splitter if multiple fittings are installed). This transformer then plugs into a mains socket and it is ready to go.
This large brass spreadlight design arrives complete with a large, 4 fin polycarbonate ground spike with anchor, for easy and extra stable mounting into soft ground. The low voltage G4 LED, available from Fostering, is the ideal replacement for 12v halogen G4 lamps. LED lamps are both efficient and long-lasting. A clear, protective diffuser houses the lamp, which is the head simply screws onto.
Charleston Modular Mounting
Charleston spot lights and spread lights use the same size thread stem (0.75 inches) which makes them extremely versatile when considering mounting options. Try replacing the polycarbonate spike with a solid brass spike. Alternatively, use the Charleston Brass Bass to surface mount the spread light on any virtually flat surface. All mounting accessories sold separately.

Warmer colour temperatures have a less disruptive impact on wildlife and help reduce star-warping. For instance, bats are less affected by red-toned lights, which produce orange or yellow hues, compared to cooler, daylight white or blue lights higher in the spectrum. Blue light, being the most harmful for light pollution, should be minimised. The best solution is to use colour temperatures of 3000K or lower, with 2700K often referred to as “bat-friendly” lighting.
